afaris Unlimited follows the ethos of eco-based community tourism. We are keenly aware of the need to minimise carbon emissions and we strive to offer the ultimate carbon-free safari.

 

Environmental Responsibility:

  • Our camps are totally mobile and have a minimal imprint on the environment.
  • Our horseback and walking safaris greatly reduce vehicle miles.
  • Non-biodegradable waste from our safaris is returned to Nairobi for recycling.
  • Our camps use very little energy and keep water wastage to a minimum.

 

Community Responsibility:

  • We employ and train local staff.
  • Our food is locally produced and purchased.
  • We encourage visits to local villages thus supporting rural communities.
  • We provide scholarships for local students.
  • We support a number of rural schools by providing necessities such as books and furniture.
